L1/LB mode uses the bumper during an approach. Circle/B mode needs sprint plus Circle/B. Both require the left trigger to be released and an eligible start without another busy action. Using the old mode’s input after loading another build can look like a broken mod.
Release before retrying
Approach first, make a fresh activation press, and release between attempts. Holding the control through an ineligible start is not the same as a new eligible press. In Circle/B mode the physical button is preserved, so do not assume every visible game action came only from the right-stick output.
Report the action, not a guessed cause
Record the mode, trigger inputs, movement, and whether the assisted output started. A started dunk that fails is different from no activation. Include the game context without claiming a patch defect from one attempt; GPC Patch’s status notes should reflect documented observations.
