Both required controls must meet the handler’s thresholds. Record them along with movement direction. A test with only the left trigger held does not reproduce the documented combination, even if it looks like a similar defensive stance in the game.
Remove competing actions from the first check
Shooting, dribbling, tempo, Quickstop, and Dunk Assist states can exclude the defense path. Test it alone before recreating the full sequence where you noticed a difference. Keep the menu closed so it is not deliberately blocking the gameplay inputs.
Distinguish output from defensive success
A matching stick output confirms one control behavior, not a guaranteed stop, steal, or contest. If the input path works but the game result differs, record the situation rather than changing the script’s shooting values. Include a short controller-and-screen clip in a private support report.
